Homelessness Resources

Find Housing Support and Homeless Resources

If you are experiencing or are at risk of being homeless, Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) can connect you with local partners who may be able to provide immediate support and housing services. This page is the starting point for finding help in your community.

KHC’s Community Resource Guide

KHC’s online resource guide lists out partners and other resources we are aware of. You can search

for possible resources based on your location – specifically your county or city. If you are currently experiencing homelessness and are in need of shelter or housing, select your county or city and select “Homelessness Resources” as the type of assistance you're looking for.

Please note not every Kentucky county has its own shelter or housing program, but the resource guide will provide you with organizations as close to you as possible.

Kynect Resource Guide

The Commonwealth of Kentucky also has a resource guide through its kynect program. You can search for different types of assistance broken out by situation, including homelessness.

You can select the “Homeless” square from the kynect resources main page or select “Search Byby Category” followed by “Housing” at the top of the page.

Any Door Kentucky Coordinated Entry System

Are you sleeping outside, in your car, or another place not meant for regular living? Are you staying in an emergency shelter or a transitional housing program for people experiencing homelessness? You may be able to access housing assistance targeted for people in your situation through the Any Door Kentucky Coordinated Entry System (Any Door KY CES), which is overseen by KHC.

Any Door KY CES helps assess and prioritize people experiencing literal homelessness for referrals to housing programs based on a common assessment process to determine a person’s specific needs. KHC partners with organizations across the state (all areas except Fayette and Jefferson Counties) to provide access to CES and to complete assessments with people in need, which includes completing a short questionnaire about your situation. It’s important to know that being assessed through CES does not guarantee a housing referral due to the limited number of resources available. CES prioritizes people seeking assistance based on level of need and is not a waitlist.

If you are experiencing homelessness, contact the Any Door KY Regional Lead Partner Contact (LPC) agency in your area below and asked to be assessed through the Coordinated Entry process.

If you are unsure which LPC region you are in, find your county on the following map.

As stated above, Lexington and Louisville operate their own CES programs separate from Any Door KY CES. If you are in Lexington-Fayette County, visit the Lex End Homelessness Get Help page for more information on ways to request help. If you are in Louisville-Jefferson County, visit the Coalition for the Homeless Get Help page for more information.

Access to Any Door KY does NOT guarantee housing referral.
