| Kentucky Housing Corporation Announces the First Scholar House Grand Opening (Sep 22, 2008) | Representatives of Kentucky Housing Corporation, Wabuck Development Company, Audubon Area Community Service, Inc. and state and local officials held the grand opening of Owensboro’s new Learning Villa Scholar House on September 22. This new initiative will provide affordable housing, counseling and on-site childcare for individuals who are pursuing post-secondary education. The Learning Villa is the first Scholar House to open in the state. | | | | Ribbon Cutting Takes Place at Liberty Place Recovery Center (Sep 15, 2008) | Kentucky First Lady and Recovery Kentucky Task Force Co-Chair Jane Beshear, Richmond Mayor Connie Lawson and several guests participated in a ribbon cutting in Richmond today for Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women. The center is one of ten recovery centers that will simultaneously reduce the state’s drug and homeless problems. Liberty Place will provide counseling, support and hope for up to 100 women at a time who are recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. | | |
